Cranston, RI – Joy Fox, the only candidate with roots in the 2nd Congressional District, enters the final two months of the primary campaign ready to make her case to voters. The Cranston native and Warwick resident was the first Democrat to cross the 500 verified signature threshold, and this afternoon will file an FEC report showing a second consecutive six-figure fundraising quarter. She’s now raised over $280,000, including more than $105,000 from April through June, and has $173,000 cash on hand.

Statement from Joy Fox:

“We need to change the way Washington works, and that starts with changing the kind of people we send to Congress. To beat Allan Fung we need a candidate who’s from here, who lives here, and who understands the challenges people face every day. If you can lend your campaign tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, I don’t think you’re worrying about the same things as the rest of us.

“I know how rising prices impact families every day, what it means to have access to good healthcare and caregiver support for loved ones, and how people just want things to work better. I’ve spent my career listening and working to help people right here in Rhode Island. That’s the experience I’ll take to Washington when I’m the first Democratic woman elected to represent the Second District.”
